Sometimes it's up and sometimes it's down. To predict whether the price will rise higher in the future seems like a silly question. With increased demands by consumers worldwide it's unlikely fuel price cost will remain low and readily available in the foreseeable future.

There is a global movement to switch from polluting fossil fuels to alternative methods of energy. Not only is it practical to do so but it's also the responsible thing to do. There are just so many reasons to use alternative energy. When the technology is available consumers seem willing to make the switch if it is affordable. Until then there are many simple and inexpensive ideas most households can apply to help reduce their energy consumption levels. Here are 7 ideas:

1. Keep Windows Properly Sealed - Reduce unwanted air flow.
2. Weather Proof Entryways - Weather Strip around doors to keep cold air in and warm air out.
3. Install a Programmable Thermostat - Regulate temperatures and potentially save up to $100 a year!
4. Vacuum Refrigerator Coils - Clean coils could reduce energy usage by 25%.
5. Close Vents - Close vents in areas that you hardly use.
6. Close Drapes and Blinds - Keep outside heat from warming your home.
7. Downgrade or Change Light Bulbs. Switch from 100 to 75 watt bulbs or use energy saving Compact Fluorescent Bulbs and save 10% or more.

Even small savings add up if enough people do it. Not only will cost saving measures reduce utility bills but using less energy also means helping the environment.

Read 5 more: <a Presently it's not so common for people to be interested in a solar or wind system for their home or perhaps I should say people don't know how available or affordable a system can be. I believe the interest is there.

Since affordability will always be an issue I want to mention a product I located that is a Do-it-Yourself Guide. In other words it will instruction how to build your own panels, etc. for much less.
It also has instructions for building a wind mill. The question a lot of people have been asking is will the projects listed in the Stimulus generate jobs. When it concerns the new energy policies the answer is yes. Changes to standards of better vehicle mileage mean someone has to work of new designs and build them. This creates jobs or at least saves them.

Also there are funds dedicated to weatherizing homes by replacing older air conditioning and heating units along with adding more insulation and finally energy saving windows. The higher the demand for these goods mean manufacturers have to keep people on the payroll to build them. Lastly someone has to install them. So I think we can safely say the answer to the question of whether Alternative Energy saving initiatives saves (or creates) jobs is a resounding YES, and that is good for America.

CLICK HERE TO SEE ALTERNATIVE ENERGY PRODUCTS

Can we afford electrical grid upgrades?

Wind as a source to generate energy by an alternative method may be good but the cost of upgrading the electrical transmission grid to accommodate the expansion may not be.
Seems the cost of building the transmission system could be more than expected. Twenty Eight states already have policies in place requiring them to produce or purchase a portion of their electricity from Alternative Energy (renewable) Sources. That is good news. As with any major system changes the initial project may be costly but the end reward should be great. History will tell whether the venture is a success but it's hard to believe an investment in energy independence and renewable resources would be a failure. Perhaps from a monetary standpoint some may question it's success but for the future of our planet it's value is still to be determined.

I think most people believe there isn't much one can do on their own except change light bulbs and perhaps weatherstrip but internet activity is proving different. A search for alternative energy in Google produced over 54 millions pages.

For those a little adventuresome you can build your own Solar and Wind Systems. Two factors have driven such awareness. One is concern over climate changes and the other concern of depleting non-renewable resources.

Fortunately most experts believe there is still time to take steps to avoid planetary disaster. I'm not saying damage hasn't already been done because that is obvious. What I am saying is there is still time to change the way we live on planet Earth before we reach a point of no return.

It is noticeable that more people are taking measures to conserve and switch to alternative methods of energy on their own even without incentives. Solar and Wind have taken a back seat in the past but now is moving to the forefront. In addition to purchasing systems it is now possible to purchase kits online that allow you to make your own solar and wind system for a lot less.
Having your own energy system not only drastically cuts or eliminates the electric bill but income can also be earned as excess power is fed back to the local utility company. It doesn't get any better than that for only the initial cost of setting up a system.

The sun and wind have been around for eons but now it's good to know it's benefits are being put to use for more than just a sunny day with a pleasant breeze. Now when the sun rises or wind blows, money, (and the planet) can be saved.

Obama Backs Alternative Energy

If anyone heard the State of the Union speech tonight the President has made his commitment to Alternative (Renewable) Energy sources understood. After some people were left without power last November during a blizzard a high school environmental science class teacher had and idea and organized a summit of sorts to explore other cost-effective and reliable alternative energy options.

More than a dozen speakers discussed geothermal heating and cooling, solar and wind energy, hydrogen fuel, hydroelectricity and bio-fuels to the students and explained new technology. The information seminar gave the students an awareness of how alternative energy options are better for the environment and how eventually would be more cost-efficient.

Like the saying goes: "Knowledge is Power" and in the hands of current and future generations of leaders much can be accomplished.

CLICK HERE TO SEE ALTERNATIVE ENERGY PRODUCTS

Does Alternative Energy Solutions Equal Jobs?

I think by now most people have seen President Obamas' commitment to drastically change the way America is powered.

Energy From Wind Not So Wonderful?

Wind as a source to generate energy by an alternative method may be good but the cost of upgrading the electrical transmission grid to accommodate the expansion may not be.
Seems the cost of building the transmission system could be more than expected. The Stimulus package is expected to contain $4.5 billion to upgrade the nations' electrical grid. How that will be spent remains to be seen. President Obama is said to be considering the idea of a mandatory national standard for renewable energy. Twenty Eight states already have policies in place requiring them to produce or purchase a portion of their electricity from Alternative Energy (renewable) Sources. That is good news. As with any major system changes the initial project may be costly but the end reward should be great. The Solar and Wind Energy Industries are expected to create more than 200,000 jobs with government incentives. Now is the time for existing companies to thrive and expand. If they can't do it now with aid then it's not likely they'll stay in the business long term.

Part of the package also includes $5 billion to pay to weatherize homes. That should help in a practical way. Like the Neil Armstrong the first man to step foot on the moon said: "One small step for man, one giant leap for mankind". The future of Alternative Energy is brighter than it's ever been.

CLICK HERE TO SEE ALTERNATIVE ENERGY PRODUCTS

Long Day

Today was a long day and I didn't get chance to put together anything new about Alternative Energy tonight. The plan includes $14.4 billion in Government funds for Energy Efficient and Renewable Energy programs.

In addition $4.5 billion is dedicated to a Smart Electricity Grid, $2.9 billion for weatherization of modest income home and a tax credit extension for renewable Energy Production. This is VERY good news for Alternative Energy Products indeed!

CLICK HERE TO LEARN HOW TO GENERATE POWER AND GET PAID

Is Going Green Practical?

With the price of fuel skyrocketing this past year that seems like a silly question. Although prices are back down to comfortable levels I doubt we'll ever be able to stay comfortable with current troubling foreign affairs.

Practical and logical are terms that should be used together because not only IS it practical to use alternative methods of energy it's also logical to do so.

There are just so many reasons to use alternative energy as there are products and methods. I for one am glad that this subject is finally at the forefront where it belongs.

CLICK HERE TO LEARN HOW TO GENERATE POWER AND GET PAID

America Finally Going Green?

Looks like our new president is dedicated to "going green". While some are still seeking new alternative energy options the truth is we already have existing technologies that can make an immediate impact. The problem is simpler and more affordable methods to harness renewable energy of choice such as sun, wind, water and others are needed. Renewable energy sources need not endanger the worlds' unlimited natural resources or damage the environment is the wave of the future. Once alternative energy is harnessed an efficient method of delivering the product is vital if there are going to be any advances in energy conservation.

Part of the problem is thinking too big. Inventors need to create products and systems that address energy needs on a small scale we would see much progress. New energy conserving products that accommodate the personal needs of home and vehicle owners on a small scale can add up to huge results.

Imagine each home, business and vehicle owner having his or her own small renewable power sources for each piece of equipment. People will welcome the new technology but they will demand simplicity, convenience and affordability. Deliver those three and eliminate most resistance to change.

Two young teenagers from the Middle East invented a small simple device that could affect major change. They invented a tiny device that when placed under a speed bump generated a small amount of energy each time a vehicle rolled over the bump. The device powered a battery that powered a nearby streetlight.

Imagine if this device was applied to every speed bump. It's a small solution for one fixture but it certainly makes a point. One device powering thousands or millions of applications requiring an energy source could lead to major reductions.

To finally break through the barrier of dependency on limited resources we need the cooperative effort of private individuals, public companies and government entities to apply knowledge that already exists. Incentives for new inventions of alternative energy products would speed up development and availability of new products. Some have the knowledge and desire but now all they need is the reward. Only then will America and the world truly turn the page and leave energy needs of the past behind and take the quantum leap into the future of clean and alternative energy.

CLICK HERE TO LEARN HOW TO GENERATE POWER AND GET PAID
